New You Resolutions? Use library resources!

With the New Year just barely in the rear view mirror, many of us are considering our commitment to our resolutions. If your health was a resolution, consider using the myriad resources the library offers for helping you make and meet goals. Need help finding something specific? Ask a librarian!

  • DVDs: from why diets don't work to exercise videos to understanding nutrition, we have a variety of DVDs to inform and inspire you. Recommendation: the Zumba series (DVD RA781.15.Z86x 2004). Zumba is a fun take on aerobics that incorporates Latin dance moves. You need not be coordinated to follow and enjoy Zumba; it will definitely keep you from getting bored by exercise. The series ranges from beginners to more advanced.
  • Magazines: got a few minutes, browse the magazine shelves and pick up RUNNERS WORLD or HEALTH. Need inspiration to just go work out already? Flip through one of these magazines to give yourself a kick start.
  • Books: we have a wide collection to support the kineseology and nursing programs that you can take advantage of. From books on nutrition to making sure you perform exercises correctly to recovering from injury, we've got resources you can use to help you take charge of your health.
Happy New Year and ask a librarian if you need assistance finding something in our collection.
