This short video clip highlights the work of PLU Librarian, artist, and all around great person, Holly Senn. Along with two fellow artists, Holly created the 'Link' installation in downtown Tacoma.
Holly provided the following background information:
"Conceptual information: Present day Tollefson Plaza overlooks the place where the Prairie Line turned east and crossed over Pacific Avenue to meet Puget Sound. Yet the line, which carried rail cars of passengers and freight to, from, and through local communities, is no longer visible. “Link” makes visible the connection between the communities of Tenino, McIntosh, Rainier, Yelm, Roy, Hillhurst, Lakeview, South Tacoma, and downtown Tacoma which were linked to each other, and the water, by the Prairie Line. The installation also includes the suggestion of rails, creating a visual site line between “Link” at Tollefson Plaza and the other temporary installations at along the Prairie Line trail."
